| Threshold - Recent Publicity |
I am gathering this information in one place for people interested. The ugly Wikipedia incident has really been great for Threshold from a publicity standpoint.
Dr. Richard Bartle (QBlog): Threshold
Creator of the first MUD/online game. Foremost world authority on online games.
Raph Koster: Losing MUD History
Developer of Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies, and other MMORPGs.
Scott Jennings (Broken Toys): Wikicrap
Developer of Dark Age of Camelot and other online games.
Samson (Empire of the Iguanadons): Wikipedia Strikes Again
Massively.com: MUD history dissolving into the waters of time
Major MMORPG industry site.
This is a great time to strike while the iron is hot. If you know ANYONE with some connections at a newspaper, magazine, radio station, tv station, or anything like that, this is the time to see if you can get them to write or talk about Threshold. Something specifically about Threshold (review, information, whatever) is best, but if it has to be about the Wikipedia incident that's better than nothing.
Read and enjoy! |

Capitalization is the difference between "I had to help my Uncle Jack off a horse." and "I had to help my uncle jack off a horse."
There is never a good time for lazy writing! |

I speak closely with many folk in the games development and journalism industries both here and in Montreal, not to mention a few soulless husks in PR who might be useful. I will see how many I can get on our side, many don't know what MUDS really are though, so don't cross our fingers yet.
UPDATE - Okay, so basically I've brought this to the attention of Simon Byron, executive at Barrington Harvey PR. David McCarthy, freelance games journalist who used to be an editor at Edge magazine and who regularly writes for Eurogamer. Ste Curran, games developer/former editor of Edge/games journalist. Gary Cutlack, games developer and writer of UK:Resistance. Rab Florence and Ryan McLeod, presenters of Videogaiden here in the UK and writers for GamesTM magazine.
And RamRaider over at his blog.
Byron, McCarthy and Curran have also written books between them about games and games development, namely: Game On! The 50 greatest Videogames of all time, The Complete Guide to Game Development, and Game Plan.
These people are my real life friends and associates, I hope something comes of it, but they are all busy people so maybe not. Fingers firmly crossed. |

Right now we're unsure exactly what led to the publication of this article, as we have yet to find out who actually wrote it, but it's very interesting and possibly has something to do with a few passionate conversations had by Khaltek and the above people.
